The firm’s M&A team led by Associate Partner Kadri Kallas advised real estate crowdfunding platform EstateGuru in the transaction whereby Helmes, one of the leading software developers in Estonia, acquired 4% of the company’s shares.
The founder and partner of EstateGuru, Marek Pärtel says that Helmes’ involvement gives them an opportunity to cooperate on developing the platform and on expanding to foreign markets.
Jaan Pillesaar, chairman of the board of Helmes, noted that guaranteed loans are indeed a good short term investment instrument. Helmes has been investing via EstateGuru platform for over two years now and having been convinced in the reliability of the team, software and business process functionality, decided to make the investment into its share capital.
EstateGuru, established in 2014, is one of the largest real estate crowdfunding platforms in Scandinavia, it has already issued loans amounting to over 18 million euros, whereas the largest investment portfolios in excess of 1 million volumes.
Helmes was founded in 1991 and it is one of the largest comprehensive IT solutions providers in Estonia, whose clients are the leading telecom operators, banks and insurance companies, logistics corporations and government institutions.
