Chambers Global 2013 ranks TGS Baltic among leading law firms

Law firm TGS Baltic and its lawyers are ranked in top tiers in Chambers Global’s newest, 2013 edition. The edition analyzes corporate/commercial and dispute resolution practice areas in the Baltics.

In the corporate/commercial area TGS Baltic Estonian offices continues to be ranked in tier 1 (tier 1 being the highest ranking). According to the publication, partner and Head of Tax practice Rolan Jankelevitsh “combines top-drawer tax knowledge with M&A expertise”. Managing partner Aare Tark brings first-rate litigation and arbitration skills to the corporate practice. While according to the sources, partner Risto Vahimets is "just brilliant – he's pragmatic and to the point", partner Hannes Vallikivi is rated by the market commentators as "a leading transactional lawyer."

The firms’ ranking in the dispute resolution practice area has been raised, which indicates that the Estonian office continues to be a strong player in the field. Market observers commend partner Erki Kergandberg's litigation style, saying he is "sharp and versatile."

TGS Baltic Vilnius office holds its strong position in tier 2 in both the corporate/commercial and dispute resolution practice area.

According to the edition, "Tough negotiator" partner Marius Matonis is highly visible in the market and rises in the rankings having earned widespread praise for his skills in the fields of M&A and tax. Managing partner Eugenija Sutkienė is commended for her long-standing experience across several practice areas. Partner and highly regarded banking and finance practice head Vilius Bernatonis is, according to sources, an "engaged and successful" corporate lawyer and also stands out for his arbitration work, particularly in the energy domain. Senior associate Adomas Kunčius is singled out as a strong litigator with particular expertise in the PPP, public procurement and pharmaceutical sectors. Last but not least, partner Lina Darulienė excels at disputes in the field of competition. Sources are quick to praise her responsiveness and ability to "discuss issues strategically."
