TGS Baltic advised the Court Administration of the Republic of Latvia in the project “Evaluation of litigation process in Latvia and increase of efficiency thereof within the framework of the Latvian and Switzerland co-operation project “Modernisation of courts in Latvia”” carried out from 9 July 2012 to 9 April 2013 that included international co-operation and sharing of experience. The project has been recognised as a major success story for Latvia by international experts (Peter J.A. von Roterdam, Expert of the Courts Modernisation, Netherlands; Albert Bosman, Technical consultant of video conference implementation, Netherlands).

Within the framework of the project TGS Baltic analysed the civil procedure, criminal procedure and administrative court procedure in order to make recommendations regarding their improvement and optimisation, as well as accessibility of courts by using modern technologies, i.e. electronic submissions, using safe electronic signatures, information points or e-kiosks at court houses enabling access to information on court proceedings, videoconference and sound-recording equipment in court rooms.

Project worth: LVL 4.4 million (EUR 6.3 million); 85% Swiss Confederation Council financing.
